Glenny Kravitz, the Godfather of the SFKM (San Francisco Karaoke Mafia) was recognized and in the SF Weekly 2010 Best of the Bay article.

Congradutations Glenny Kravitz on your SF Weekly Best of the Bay award!.

KJPaul hosts Karaoke at Caffeinated Comics once a month on a Saturday from 4pm-8pm. There is a dedicated group of karaoke singers from the SFKM (San Francisco Karaoke Mafia) that show up for the event and there was a good turn out this month. The Karaoke Insider was there doing a live blog feed during the event.

One of the great thing about this karaoke night is that people challenge each other to stretch their repertoire by instigating “Rock Blocks”. There were 4 Rock Blocks this month: The Eurythmics, Elton John, The Culture Club and The Beatles. Here is the complete karaoke playlist.

Want to become a KJ?

So you want to become a KJ (Karaoke Jockey). Here is a great article in the West Palm Beach Examiner on what it takes.

Glenny Kravitz presents: The 2010 SFKM KARAOKE PROM CRUISE.

We set sail at 6pm on Saturday, May 15, 2010.

It’s karaoke prom time again karaoke addicts. This time I decided to have it “on a motherfriggin boat!” So bring your prom date and your “flippy floppies because this ain’t Sea World this is as real as it gets.”

This is a karaoke prom on a boat on the bay…how could it not be great. Dress in your crazy prom bestest and have a blast. The will be 2 floors of action on the boat with a full bar on board. Lots of karaoke acts and ridiculous fun…if you have not been to an SF Karaoke Mafia event, you are in for quite a treat. If you are logged into Facebook you can see who is attending and lot others know you plan to attend on the Facebook event.

Purchase tickets here

Karaoke will be on the main floor upstairs with rotating KJ’s Glenny Kravitz, Paul Dejong and Kendo. The lower deck will be reserved as a lounge area with an additional karaoke station to ensure you get your reps in for the night. DJ Billtron will also be spinning the funky beats in the lounge area for those who want to dance.

So you better start planning on who you will bring to prom and what outfit you will be sporting. Hint: for those who missed the first karaoke prom. Rebecca Perry stole the show with her pregnant prom outfit complete with fabricated 9 month belly poking out of the dress. Get creative and be prepared for picture taking.

Cruise time 7-10pm
Location: 525 Embarcadero West Oakland Ca 94607 (Behind Bevmo)
